Most of what goes wrong in the first two hours is the room, not the shots. Pick the space with the biggest window and put everything else somewhere else — suitcases, garment bags, takeout, water bottles. Turn off the overhead lights.

Gather your detail items in one box the night before and hand the box over when your photographer arrives. It saves twenty minutes of hunting for the second earring.

And if you're getting ready in two locations, decide now who your photographer is with and when, and whether a second shooter covers the other. That one decision cuts more shots from this list than anything you'll write on it.
